High Intensity Lived Experience Team Lead - Changing Futures Northumbria
Hybrid role, working across the Northumbria area, from a Gateshead base, as part of Changing Futures Northumbria.

Experience
* Previous work within the addiction/recovery field.
* Experience of community development
* Experience of planning and development of a new service
* Collaboration and consultation embedded as normal practice
* Working in partnership with a range of statutory and non-statutory agencies
* Experience of managing teams and providing line management supervision
Qualifications
* Essential: NQF level 3 or above in a Health & Social Care related subject
* Essential: NQF level 3 or above in leadership and/or management
* Desirable: Recognised Recovery Coaching certificate or working towards a Recovery Coaching certificate
* Desirable: Qualification in Community Development, Social Work or Public Health
* Desirable: PTTLS, CTTLS, DTTLS or similar adult teaching qualification
* Desirable: Experience of providing training and presentations to a range of audiences
Lived Experience
* Personal or family experience of substance misuse
* Experience of mutual aid support
About the Role
Changing Futures is a 5-year, £91.8 million programme aiming to improve outcomes for adults experiencing multiple disadvantage – including combinations of homelessness, substance misuse, mental health issues, domestic abuse and contact with the criminal justice system.
Changing Futures Northumbria is a collaboration across the six local authorities of Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside and Sunderland that aims to improve the life situation of adults who face multiple disadvantage, transform local services, and reinvent the way the system operates.
As a High Intensity lived experience Team Lead, you will work alongside high intensity lived experience workers to facilitate support across the Changing futures partnership.
The team will support individuals who are experiencing multiple disadvantages in a holistic way, connecting with them using lived experience and travelling alongside people in a way that promotes hope.
Rather than being constrained by limited-service pathways, your role will be to support workers to build relationships with the people we support, find out ‘what matters to them’ and work alongside people to achieve their own personal goals based around improving their life circumstances.
The post will provide line management supervision to the high intensity lived experience workers.
This post requires flexible working to ensure consistent cover and some occasional out of hours working over a 7-day period.
Management Accountability
The High intensity lived experience team lead, will provide direct line management supervision to 5 High intensity lived experience workers.
Key Duties:
* Support the team to build relationships with people and explore a way forward in relation to their support needs.
* Support the team to adapt to a non-restrictive and open approach to engaging with people and agreeing ways forward which make sense to them and their best life.
* Support the team with building up community asset maps of the support available in the areas that we will be working with people.
* Acknowledge and challenge stigma
* Build positive partnerships/relationships and networks with stakeholders living and working in the areas we will be providing support.
* Help identify changes needed to systems and services in order to improve the outcomes for people facing multiple disadvantages.
* Contribute to a positive workplace culture to ensure that everyone feels supported, can develop and are motivated to work effectively, treating people fairly, with dignity and respect.
* Where necessary and appropriate, participate in regular multi-disciplinary review meetings and complete notes/reports as appropriate.
* Communicate professionally over the phone and in person with anybody contacting the service.
* Collate relevant data and information for monitoring and evaluation processes.
* Complete administrative tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
* Perform as a full team member supporting colleagues across the service and being open to reasonable requests from line management in order to ensure effective working relationships.
* Such other responsibilities allocated which are appropriate to the grade of the post.
* Understand, uphold and work with the values, ethos, aims and objectives of the organisation.
* Complete organisational induction, relevant training and any other continuous professional development as identified through a line management process.
* Represent the organisation, raise its profile and promote its cause.

* Work to safeguarding legislation and policies for children and vulnerable adults at all times.
* Prepare for and participate in supervision and appraisals.
* Keep abreast of developments in services, legislation and practice relevant to the client group.
* Seek to improve personal performance, contribution, knowledge and skills.
* Attend and participate in project discussions and team meetings as required.
* Work flexibly to maintain the most appropriate level of service provision, respond to organisational change and development.
* Undertake such other duties as reasonably requested by your line manager.
* Provide 1:1 support and group support to the team
* Carry out environmental and human risk assessments and complete plans to reduce identified risks.
* Consult and collaborate regularly around service delivery, quality and any other issues deemed appropriate.
* Increase awareness of mutual aid.
* Connect with other communities locally and regionally.
* Work closely with partners across the areas you will be working in the health and social care system, to raise the profile of recovery and the changing futures project.
* Facilitate independence as a strength for all who access support reducing long term reliance on services
* Utilise Wellness Coaching principles to be of service to individuals accessing support
* Keep up to date in area(s) of expertise for Recovery Connections to take account or take advantage of new developments.
* To act as a role model and ambassador for Recovery Connections
* Represent Recovery Connections at events as required
* Act in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organisation
* Undertake any other tasks appropriate to the role
