Our client, a leading global provider of engineering infrastructure solutions, is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join their team on a permanent basis, working on highway projects in North Lanarkshire. In this role, you will collaborate closely with project teams and stakeholders to ensure projects comply with legal and ISO standards while delivering health, safety, and wellbeing support on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Creating a safe working environment that prioritises health and safety.
2. Providing guidance and support to various sectors within the organisation.
3. Leading and developing the Health and Safety department within the division, including overseeing the training and supervision of H&S personnel.
4. Ensuring adherence to best practices and full compliance with current Health and Safety legislation across the company.
5. Ensuring compliance with mandatory requirements at all construction sites, including site licence conditions, planning conditions, and other Health and Safety considerations.
6. Acting as the main point of contact for the division in matters relating to Health and Safety regulations, maintaining regular communication with relevant parties such as clients and management.
7. Developing and implementing lessons learnt sessions, Health and Safety campaigns, and improvement plans in line with existing procedures.
8. Conducting regular Health and Safety audits across all construction sites.
9. Identifying and executing necessary measures and actions arising from Health and Safety audits and assessments.
10. Monitoring and reporting on the company’s health and safety practices and systems.
11. Managing and conducting inspections, audits, and surveillance of sites and workplaces to ensure compliance with company policy, procedures, and statutory requirements.
12. Reporting on-site activity to management.
13. Taking a proactive approach in working with the client’s Health and Safety counterpart to ensure project specifications are met.
Essential Criteria:
1. NEBOSH qualification.
2. Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager.
3. Knowledge and experience with Health and Safety plans and procedures, including CDM 2015, RAMS, and SSOW.
4. Experience in construction projects.
5. A full UK driving licence.
