Role Overview: As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, the role involves carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on a variety of mechanical systems, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with client standards and industry regulations. Key Responsibilities: Perform PPM and reactive maintenance tasks on mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to schedules. Diagnose faults, identify defects, and report findings with recommended solutions and estimated timescales. Respond to emergency call-outs and reactive works as directed by the helpdesk. Maintain accurate and concise records, including time sheets and maintenance reports. Ensure all works are carried out following health and safety guidelines, COSHH regulations, and company policies. Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members. Skills & Experience Required: ✅ Strong background in mechanical building services maintenance. ✅ Proven experience with PPM and reactive maintenance regimes. ✅ Ability to diagnose and fault-find on control circuits. ✅ Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures, including risk assessments. ✅ Strong communication skills with the ability to produce clear and concise reports. Essential Requirements: Recognised qualification in mechanical services (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent). Full UK driving licence (clean). Physically fit and able to lift tools and equipment (up to 20kg). Comfortable working at height and using access equipment. Flexible to work overtime (minimum 2 weekends per month) and participate in a call-out rota. Desirable Skills: Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS). Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) trained. Knowledge of working across multiple disciplines.
