Job overview
The Cardiothoracic unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital performs adult cardiac surgical cases per annum. The Clinical Perfusion team are currently supporting our Bristol MSc trainees as they progress through their training. The ability to provide mentoring and pastoral support to our students is a key part of this role.
The position is full time permanent contract based around a -day working week, but the department is optimized for work life balance and open to discussing part time or flexible work patterns also. Participation in the on-call rota will be required – this is currently at a frequency with some enhancements.
Informal enquiries and visits are welcome from appropriately qualified individuals.

2. Responsibility for the continual development and delivery of training packages related to perfusion science, specialist devices and specialist techniques to trainees and members of the multidisciplinary team.
3. Provide highly specialist advice directly related to care delivery and technical aspects of treatment.
4. Undertake significant out of hours commitment for autonomously managed, direct care delivery on a rota basis.
5. Assist the Clinical Perfusion Manager directly in procurement, maintenance, servicing and troubleshooting of a range of high value equipment and specialist clinical devices.
6. Allocation of daily duties appropriate to skill mix in the absence of the Clinical Perfusion Manager or Deputy Manager.
