Job Overview This is an exciting opportunity for a career progression for an existing member of the Team. We are seeking to recruit a caring, positive individual to contribute to the rehabilitation of patients who have suffered a stroke or acquired neurological condition. About Us We are a dedicated and friendly team of therapists based in Epping who provide intensive rehabilitation to patients following a stroke or neurological condition. We cover an inpatient neuro-rehabilitation ward at St. Margaret’s Hospital, Epping; as well as providing rehabilitation in patients own homes through our Early Supported Discharge service for stroke in West Essex. As a Physiotherapy assistant you will work within a dynamic MDT to provide high quality therapy input. You will work under the direction of Physiotherapists to carry out therapy programmes with patients on the ward or in their own homes. An opportunity to provide intensive therapy and rehabilitation to patients, based around the patient’s goals. A supportive team consisting of a Therapy Coordinator, Speech and Language Therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, clinical psychologist, social worker, therapy assistants and assistant practitioners. Main duties of the job To assist in the design and implementation of service development projects within the West Essex ESD Service. To be able to work closely with a specialist MDT to deliver care to stroke and neurological patients, in both a hospital and community setting, in order for patients to receive a comprehensive service. To attend planning and implementation meetings regarding service developments, as appropriate or if deputising for Physiotherapists. To prepare materials required for the assessment and treatment of patients in the Physiotherapy service, and undertake other administrative duties as required. Organise and prioritise time effectively, and contribute to organisation of patient timetables as required. To assist in maintaining the Physiotherapy team’s non-standardised and standardised assessment and treatment resources, including completions of audit as required. To assist the team in supporting research projects relevant to the ESD service within the Trust’s Research and Development Strategy. To assist in the design and implementation of audits. To undertake searches of evidence based literature and research to inform clinical practice of the Physiotherapists within the service.
