We are looking for a dynamic and organised Practitioner to join our friendly and multi-disciplinary professional team. The post-holder will be offering comprehensive assessment and treatment to a wide variety of presentations. The post-holder will require a high degree of professional autonomy, self-management and drive with the ability to work well in a team and within the multi-agency environment.
This is a community-based post and will be part of the School CAMHS Access Service, with the broader service offering an early intervention service to schools across the Central Beds locality. This post is designed specifically to work alongside, and support the mental health needs of children and young people who CAMHs professionals struggle to engage with, due to significant conduct related difficulties such as exclusion from mainstream schooling, anti-social and/or offending behaviours, and safeguarding issues and conduct disorder. The service will be delivered through Schools within Central Bedfordshire. The post-holder will provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments and individual and group therapeutic interventions using models such as NVR and multi-family groups, as well as staff training and consultation.
This post will sit within our Schools Pathway team and within the broad-based CAMH Access Services (CAS), who provide early intervention and community based support through schools, GP practices and Early Help services. The post holder will be working with our community partners and will be fully integrated with community CAMHS and educational settings supporting multiple Schools across South Central Bedfordshire.
The service provides a holistic Thrive model of care, with the CAMH CAS offering the first two quadrants, Giving Advice and Getting Help, and where necessary, stepping up into our multi-disciplinary Getting More Help and Risk Management services.
Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
This post is based in Dunstable, close to the M1 and easily reached by car from North London, Hertfordshire, and Buckinghamshire. The clinic also has the added benefit of free parking. The post holder will need to work and travel within schools across Central Bedfordshire, as required, so it is essential they have the means to do this.
