Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHC) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse with an interest in caring for the older adult in an Intermediate Care setting.
Ann Marie Howes is a 32 bedded stand-alone unit, situated in the Sheldon area of Birmingham. The Centre provides assessment and rehabilitation for older adults, admitted from various specialities in the Acute Hospital Trusts.
The skilled multi-disciplinary team provides a quality patient-focused service, supporting patients to increase their confidence and regain their independence, with a home first ethos.
If you possess excellent communication skills, are dedicated to professional practice and development, have the ability to teach, motivate and influence your team, and wish to develop your managerial and leadership skills as a Band 6 Sister/ Charge Nurse, we would like to hear from you.
As a band 6 Nurse on the ward, you will be responsible for leading a safe shift, offering the Registered Nurses, Nursing Associates, and Healthcare Assistants advice and support to care for their patients, alongside the other disciplines within our integrated MDT. You will also be required to manage a team and ensure their PDRs, Mandatory training, and Sickness Management are kept up to date. You will also be responsible for improving results and compliance in clinical audits. As part of the role, you will also participate in holding the hospital bleep during either the day or the night shift, so flexibility towards shift patterns is essential.
Key objectives of the post are to ensure patient safety, support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in developments to improve quality, cleanliness, and clinical effectiveness, and actively participate in the clinical development and management of staff.
