The successful post holder will be involved in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of Electrical services, plant and equipment within all Trust and within their remit, including some installation work. They will be part of a team of Maintenance Assistants carrying out planned and unplanned maintenance duties as directed by the Electrical Supervisor and Team leader.
Main duties of the job
1. Perform supervised & unsupervised routine maintenance and minor repair work that does not require attention of a fully qualified craftsperson, related to his/her training.
2. Learn minor repair work related to other trades as required.
3. Use all relevant tools safely and responsibly.
4. Undertake training for new practices, procedures and equipment.
5. Assist colleagues on new work and repairs.
6. Perform other routine tasks including labouring as and when required.
7. Carry out all duties of engineering Storeman when requested, using computerised stock control system.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Basic education to GCSE/'O' Level in Maths and English or post-Secondary Education training in a relevant field.
* City & Guilds 2365 Level 2 Electrical Diploma.
* Additional relevant Competencies.
Experience
* Basic knowledge/experience of Electrical services.
* Appreciation of his/her own limitations.
* Previous experience of working in an acute Hospital environment or similar demanding role.
Additional Criteria
* Reasonably clear and effective in verbal and written communications.
* Capable of working to deadlines.
* Adaptable to change.
* Physically demanding role requiring manual handling of loads, extremes of temperature and the ability to work at heights or in confined spaces.
