GSL Education is seeking a Mathematics Teacher for one of our SEN schools in Southampton. The teacher must follow the national curriculum and employ diverse teaching methods to ensure effective student learning. As part of the Mathematics department, you will collaborate closely with the Head of Faculty. The school emphasizes fundamental skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity, which are core to its ethos and expected from staff.
Key responsibilities and tasks:
1. Plan, prepare, and deliver Mathematics lessons aligned with the national curriculum, catering to individual student needs.
2. Use varied teaching methods such as lectures, group work, and practical activities to engage students.
3. Monitor and assess student progress through assessments, homework, and tests.
4. Provide feedback to students and parents, highlighting areas for improvement and strategies for success.
5. Utilize technology and resources to enhance learning experiences.
6. Participate in extracurricular activities like math Olympiads, clubs, science fairs, and field trips to inspire students.
7. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives.
The successful candidate will have:
1. Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field.
2. Teaching certification or qualification (PGCE, QTS).
3. Experience teaching Science to school students.
4. Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment methods.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
6. Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
