Brookside Group Practice is an innovative, forward thinking, large, 4 site practice working together as Earley + Primary Care Network, which manages approximately 31,000 patients. Our team of around 130 people includes many allied health professionals, including a thriving health and wellbeing team helping to address patients mental and emotional wellbeing needs alongside our doctors, physician associates and MIND services, MSK practitioners, pharmacists, paramedics, nurses, healthcare assistants, support, and administration staff.
Previous experience of nursing or working as a Health Care Associate / Assistant in General Practice preferred

Main duties of the job
Job Summary:
1. to work as a member of the General Practice Team
2. to perform the following tasks safely & efficiently working within agreed protocols.
3. The successful candidate will have previous practical experience of Venepuncture and Blood pressure checks.
4. They will work as part of a teamsupporting clinicians and patients by carrying out clinical support, infectioncontrol, restocking and stock rotation tasks.
Other tasks could include but notlimited to:

6. ECGs
7. Spirometry
8. Dressings

Job Summary:

18. Arrange the lending of &teaching patients how to use home & 24hour blood pressure machines
19. Assistwith setting up for minor surgery procedures including dermatology, IUDinsertion and removal and implanon insertion and removal and minor ops.
20. Teaching of inhaler technique
21. Assisting with annualdiabetic reviews
22. Giving advice on healthpromotion including new patient health checks for patients with long termconditions
23. Act on yellow flag reminderswhere appropriate

26. Computerisation of letters & notes
27. Chaperone duties
28. Stockchecks and reordering stock on a weekly basis
29. Recordfridge temperatures and promptly report temperature variation from standard
30. On the basis of a PatientSpecific Direction and with signed authorisation:
31. Pertussis immunisation for pregnant women
32. Pneumococcal immunisation
33. Vitamin B injections
The HCA will refer to a supervising memberof the clinical team if deviation from the protocol is required, if unsure inany way, or where clinical judgement is required before proceeding.
The HCA has responsibilities to
