William Thompson & Son (Dumbarton) Ltd has an excellent opportunity for a Transport and Compliance officer to join us at our Dumbarton Office. The role holder will report to the Logistics Manager and be focused on promoting and maintaining a positive safety culture, compliance against regulatory and legislative matters, and the provision and maintenance of the Transport and Quality management systems.

* Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday - 45 Hours Per Week
* Hours: 07:00-17:00 with additional hours as required

Requirements:
* Previous experience in an office based or customer service role.
* Some experience in the transport industry is preferred but not essential.
* Transport Manager CPC desirable.
Responsibilities:
* Supporting the Logistics Manager with the management of the fleet through completing tasks such as managing drivers’ hours, licence checks, organising fleet repairs with the workshop and third-party contractors.
* Ensuring compliance with statutory laws, EU driver's hours rules, road transport regulations, Health & Safety legislation and other company policies.
* Assisting in the training of drivers and other staff on safety procedures and compliance requirements via regular toolbox talks.
* Control the company training matrix and liaise with third party training providers where required to ensure all training requirements are met.
* Answering calls and dealing with customer enquiries.
* Providing cover for the transport coordinator, involving routing the vehicles to optimise fleet efficiency, managing drivers and liaising with customers.
Skills:

* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and other commonly used office packages
