Job Summary
This position is responsible for leading the Transmission and Distribution Operations and Maintenance organization within Power Delivery. The supervision team of the LOAs, which consists of Regional Managers, Superintendents, and Supervisors, report to this position. The position reports to the Director, T&D Lines. The Senior Manager Line is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the electric assets within their designated service territories.
This position plays a critical role in leading emergency response activities for electric transmission and distribution incidents. The organization's team is primarily comprised of the following:
* Regional Managers, Superintendents, Supervisors, administrative, and hourly Lineman employees responsible for day-to-day operations of Electric Transmission and Distribution Systems.
This position also works with other Power Delivery departments and organizations such as Major Projects/TDSIC within the company to ensure the appropriate operations, maintenance, safety, and regulatory work is conducted on the local transmission systems.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
* Manage geographically dispersed teams in the safe and timely completion of transmission and distribution operations, maintenance, and construction activities.
* Improve Safety and Human Performance to include OSHA Recordable Rate, Days Away from Work (Lost Work Time), Motor Vehicle Incident Rate, Performance Management, and Process Improvements/Execution.
* Implement and deliver on the Strategic Plan, Budget, and Power Delivery mission statement.
* Oversees and controls O&M and Capital Budgets, Overtime, Project Schedules, Milestones, and Maintenance Plans.
* Manages improvement on Reliability, Drives Customer Satisfaction; Completes Improvement Projects, System improvement, and new business.
* Responsibilities include 24/7 responsiveness to customer needs.
* Accountable for the West or East end LOAs execution on the CAIDI, ETR, and customer commitments.
* Manages customer service responsiveness and ensures their teams are delivering on the NiSource commitment.
* Responsible for the employee leadership development within their team.
* Participates in the development and executes on the annual Operating and Maintenance budget for their respective LOA.
* Oversight of all time sheets, vacation schedules, and expense accounts within the area of responsibility.
* Manages all resolution efforts on emergencies pertaining to major equipment and system issues.
* Manages the coordination with appropriate groups for restoration of service.
* Participates in the interviews of prospective employees and recommends hiring as well as discharging.
* Periodically assumes duties of the Director.
* Participates on committees and attends seminars as required.
* Participates in all storm and/or emergency activity across the territory as needed.
* Provide leadership to the individuals of the operations team and the team as a whole so that:
* Safe work practices are implemented, work is conducted in compliance with regulations and Company procedures, and unsafe equipment conditions are corrected.
* Assure personnel employ safe work methods and that personal protective equipment is used.
* Individual and team accountabilities and authorities are clearly understood by all employees in their respective area.
* Individual and team performance is evaluated and rewarded.
* Leadership skills and working knowledge of Power Delivery are enhanced and cross-functional capability is established.
* Overall department direction and management philosophy is understood.
* Operational decisions are based on appropriate prioritization of benefits and cost.
* Ensure balanced decision making by utilizing engineering and maintenance resources.
* Conflicts in scope, schedule, and budget are managed to the overall benefit of Power Delivery.
* Local, state, and federal standards (OSHA and EPA) are met, as well as corporate policies.
Required Qualifications for Position
* 5 years’ experience in electric transmission and distribution.
* Direct experience in managing and leading teams, monitoring budgets, meeting regulatory requirements, and leading with safety.
* Experience managing and leading in a union environment.
* Valid driver's license.
Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
* 12 years of experience or equivalent with increasing responsibility in the utility industry or other technical field.
* Bachelor's Degree or above in a Technical discipline.
* 2 years of experience interfacing directly with regulatory agencies.
* Project management experience.

Salary Range*:
$129,500.00 - $194,300.00
*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.
