TEXO have an exciting opportunity for a full time Junior Project Engineer to join our team located in Dundee on a permanent basis. The Junior Project Engineer will support the team in costing, planning, procuring, manufacturing, and delivering engineered projects on time and within budget, collaborating with various departments to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency, with potential for career progression. Duties & Responsibilities: Assist with the project management of fabrication work through the Dundee workshops. Understand and meet the client’s requirements Plan & schedule tasks to meet required deadlines. Prepare Work to meet or beat cost budgets. Achieve client minimum quality standards. Manage day to day workload, regularly reporting progress/issues to the Operations Engineer/Fabrication Team Lead. Drive to continually improve fabrication processes to allow work to be completed quicker, cheaper or with improved quality. Demonstrate a proactive commitment to TEXO improvement initiatives. Prepare costs estimates and issue tenders to clients. Create and update the project cost/revenue estimates and budgets. Set up, update and maintain project technical and commercial files and registers in line with Company procedures and processes. Attend and, in time, chair project kick-off meetings. Review engineered drawings, prepare MTO/BOM, raise any technical queries. Price, requisition & procure projects materials & services. Provide input to the Project Quality Plan and/or ITP. Provide input to plan workflow through the workshops. Prepare project RAMS and Lifting Plans. Monitor & report the progress of preparation/set up, welding & NDE/finishing. Maintain & develop Client Relationships, reporting progress to client as required. Schedule client’s inspection activities in line with the relevant ITP. Prepare delivery notes/manifests and oversee the dispatch to client. Provide data for the clients’ MRB Attend and, in time, chair Lesson Learned meetings. Provide information for case studies. Requirements: Numerate, analytical and logical, with knowledge and experience of engineering, design & fabrication processes. Able to read an engineering drawing, produce an MTO/BOM and specify/order materials & services. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to prepare reports, excel spreadsheets and present data in a concise and persuasive manner. Able to use own initiative to effectively manage own workload and work within given timescales, ensuring that all project requirements are met Able to foster relationships internally and externally. Preferred Skills: Extensive knowledge and experience of fabrication processes, including material handling, cutting, prepping and set up, welding, NDE and quality control. Relevant experience of project planning or engineering design work. Able to develop skills via suitable training to produce project plans on MS Project or P6 and to read/modify Autocad engineering drawings.
