Description Are you a pensions expert with a background in technical management? SPPA administer public sector pensions to over 600,000 members in 4 major schemes, delivered across an operational area of over 200 colleagues. The Technical Services remit is to centralise the operational controls that oversee pensions, data, and payroll delivery in partnership with colleagues from Policy, Risk, Audit, and Governance. The Technical Services team will support operational colleagues in understanding current and future requirements, and articulating process and system demands to meet those requirements. You will support all pensions, data, and payroll operational areas in identifying and embedding technical controls within a highly regulated and complex arena. You will ensure efficient and effective leadership and management across a range of statutory, financial services in line with Policy objectives, Risk parameters, Audit preparedness, and overarching Governance requirements. Responsibilities Implement and maintain a robust compliance framework to enable frequent assurance on operational controls. Creation of tools and frameworks to ensure both change and business as usual activities adhere to complex regulatory and legislative requirements. Oversee and lead identification of process and control improvements and technical training needs analysis. Liaison with internal stakeholders: internally with Policy, Risk, Audit, Governance, and Finance functions. Liaison with external stakeholders: pension, scheme and management advisory boards, The Pensions Ombudsman, and The Pensions Regulator. Line management of a small unit of technical pensions experts.
