Technical Services Manager - Fit-Out
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Building Services Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred but not essential).
* 5+ years' experience in a similar role within the fit-out sector.
* Background working for main contractors or fit-out specialists on high-end commercial, retail, hospitality, or residential projects.
* Strong knowledge of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health) coordination within fast-track fit-out environments.
* Experience managing technical aspects of CAT A & CAT B fit-outs.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
* Strong understanding of building services, MEP coordination, and sequencing in fit-out projects.
* Ability to review, interpret, and approve technical drawings and specifications.
* Familiarity with fit-out regulations, British Standards, and industry codes of practice.
* Knowledge of HVAC, lighting, fire alarm systems, access control, and IT infrastructure within fit-out projects.
* Experience in testing, commissioning, and handover of technical installations.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM software (advantageous).
Key Responsibilities:
* Design & MEP Coordination - Work closely with architects, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of technical services within fit-out designs.
* On-Site Support - Provide technical expertise to project and site teams, ensuring smooth installation of MEP services within fast-paced fit-out schedules.
* Quality & Compliance - Ensure all technical work meets project specifications, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.
* Testing & Commissioning - Oversee MEP commissioning and system handover, ensuring a defect-free delivery.
* Problem-Solving - Quickly resolve design and site issues to avoid delays in fit-out programs.
