Full Time 37.5 hours, 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday
Reporting to the Head of IT, the Infrastructure Engineer will manage PenCarrie’s infrastructure anensure its availability, reliability and security. This involves overseeing the design, implementation and maintenance of the hardware, software and network systems while driving innovation, optimising performance and supporting business growth. This role is pivotal in safeguarding IT operations, enabling scalability and delivering future-proofed solutions that empower PenCarrie to achieve its strategic goals.
The right candidate will have the ability to make decisions on technically complex issues and will have extensive knowledge in virtualisation platform such as VMware. Understanding of network hardware and technologies is essential along with Microsoft cloud service, Azure/Microsoft 365 plus familiarity with security tools such as Azure Security Centre or Microsoft Defender. Additional desirable experience includes Firewall configuration, Shared Storage Technologies and Linus or Mac OS Operating Systems. This role can benefit from our hybrid working policy which requires three days minimum working at our offices in Willand and up to two days working from home; however four or five days on site is also welcomed, especially during the initial weeks of settling in and throughout a six month probationary period.
