We seek an inspiring, dynamic staff nurse with a shared vision of delivering the very best patient experience and outcomes, whilst continuing to strive for quality improvements in partnership with the multidisciplinary team.
We currently provide care in Oncology, Haematology and another cancer speciality, and we also provide care for patients in the last days of life. The successful applicant will be working as part of the team delivering exceptional care for the patients attending the ward.
There is a strong emphasis on the need to develop excellent service performance and work collaboratively with the team members within the service and associated clinical staff.
The successful applicant would be expected to liaise with specialist nurses, the medical team and other members of the MDT to make sure there is a continual flow through the ward, which includes admissions, ongoing treatments and discharge planning, ensuring they are staffed safely and appropriately. The successful applicant will demonstrate a smart and professional image.
The successful candidate may have to take charge (once trained) in the absence of the Band 6/7.
• Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment
• Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.
• Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.
• Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient
• Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct
• Undertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands
• Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures
