We have a requirement for an experienced Material Planner to work on a 9 month temporary basis for our Engineering and Manufacturing client based in Peterborough.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Daily review of materials planning panels to ensure supply is aligned with demand.
2. Release of new wholegoods purchase orders to ensure products will be available in time.
3. Review of supplier order boards and update planning systems with relevant data.
4. Manage change requests for purchase orders and re-schedule to meet better lead time.
5. Provide accurate information to Customer order management teams so they can align planning dates.
6. Frequently join end-to-end planning team meetings to review open order boards.
7. Maintain good communication with plant account teams to ensure the company is provided with accurate lead time information.
You will use the materials planning system to manage supply and demand plans, taking long-term corrective action on exception messages and other alerts based on root cause analysis. Occasionally, you will refer to ad hoc tools such as Excel, Access, TOAD, OMS, etc. in performing problem-solving, while leveraging the materials planning system as the primary tool in day-to-day operations.
It is essential that you have significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience in an equivalent field such as materials planning, production scheduling, manufacturing, or inventory control, with 5-7 years of relevant work experience required.
You will be working 37.5 hours per week and this will be a hybrid role with some home working.
