Would you like to be part of a forward-thinking, proactive, and dynamic team at the Day Case Unit, Queen Mary's Hospital?
You will join our friendly, multidisciplinary team helping to care for patients.
We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and motivated band 5 to come and join our established team in the Day Case and Endoscopy Unit at Queen Mary's Hospital. We undertake procedures for Endoscopy, Urology, Plastics, Podiatric Surgery, and Dermatology.
We pride ourselves on running a patient-focused unit and providing support for new staff.
Your role will be to assist in the 10-bedded recovery area and, once training has been provided, offer support and assistance in both the endoscopy rooms and operating theatre.
Your roles will include the following:
1. Complete a detailed admission pre-procedure.
2. Provide patient support and monitoring in recovery.
3. Provide comprehensive discharge to patients including reports and surgical findings.
4. Assist in the endoscopy rooms for diagnostic and minor therapeutic procedures.
5. Assist in the operating theatre, scrubbing and circulating for a variety of surgical procedures.
Your main role will be based in Queen Mary's Hospital, but you have the opportunity to work on either of the other St George's sites at both St George's in Tooting and The Nelson Health Centre in Wimbledon.

Our sites include St Georges Hospital, one of 11 major trauma centres in the UK and the largest healthcare provider and major teaching hospital in the area; St Helier Hospital, home to the South West Thames Renal and Transplantation Unit and Queen Mary's Hospital for Children; and Epsom Hospital, home to the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC).
After years of collaboration, our two Trusts became a hospitals group in 2021. While remaining as two separate Trusts, being a hospitals group will help us to collaborate more closely on research, and the development, education, and training of our 17,000-strong workforce.
