Looking for a Head of Compliance role with a growing construction business?
As Head of Compliance, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and leading the company’s compliance framework. You will ensure that all operations align with regulatory and legal standards, supporting ethical business practices and corporate governance across all business units. Reporting directly to senior management and the Board, this is a high-impact role offering strategic influence across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance strategy aligned with business objectives and legal obligations.
2. Lead and manage the compliance function across all departments to ensure consistent execution of compliance standards.
3. Advise senior leadership and the Board on regulatory risks, governance, and compliance matters.
4. Design, promote, and maintain robust policies and procedures covering anti-bribery, AML, competition law, and financial regulations.
5. Ensure all policies are current and reflective of relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
6. Oversee monitoring and auditing systems to assess compliance and recommend improvements.
7. Deliver regular reports to senior stakeholders detailing compliance risks, issues, and corrective actions.
8. Lead internal audits and coordinate with external assurance providers as necessary.
9. Develop and deliver engaging compliance training for employees at all levels.
10. Foster a culture of integrity, ethics, and accountability across the organisation.
11. Identify and address potential areas of compliance risk and lead the implementation of remedial actions.
12. Collaborate with the Risk Committee to integrate compliance into broader risk management initiatives.
Key Requirements:
1. 5–10 years’ experience in a senior compliance role, ideally within construction, energy, or utilities contracting sectors.
2. Proven success leading compliance frameworks in complex, multi-jurisdictional environments.
3. Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, including anti-bribery, AML, and industry-specific standards.
4. Strong leadership and strategic capabilities with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
5. Ability to communicate complex regulatory issues clearly to diverse audiences.
6. High ethical standards with a demonstrated commitment to promoting a culture of compliance.
