Commercial Manager/Director
Abercorn Sinclair is delighted to partner with Stanelco RF Technologies as they seek to appoint a Commercial Manager/Director.
The company:
Based in Marchwood, Southampton, Stanelco RF Technologies (“Stanelco”) is a division of Biome Technologies plc.
Stanelco’s small, multidisciplinary team specialises in the design and manufacture of bespoke engineering solutions for a wide range of industries that utilise induction heating and dielectric welding systems.
With a focus on high-frequency RF technologies, projects typically range from £50k to £500k and include RF heating systems, control systems, and mechanical handling solutions. Delivery timelines vary from 3 to 12 months, covering the full process from project acquisition through to commissioning.
The Role:
The successful candidate will lead the next phase of strategic and commercial growth, this pivotal leadership role will allow the Managing Director to concentrate on broader organisational priorities while empowering the Commercial Manager/Director to drive business expansion, explore opportunities in both existing and new markets, strengthen customer relationships, and ensure excellence in project delivery.
Key responsibilities:
* Act as a trusted advisor to the MD, supporting business strategy execution and operational priorities.
* Lead and manage a small sales team (1-2 members) covering UK and international markets, ensuring alignment with growth objectives.
* Own and develop strategic account management for all existing customers.
* Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning to shape business strategy.
* Drive the development of market opportunities in target sectors such as medical technologies, glass melting, semiconductor manufacturing and general industry.
* Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities globally, with a focus on emerging markets and large-scale projects.
* Build and strengthen customer relationships in key global markets, including North America, China and India.
* Develop a strong understanding of the company’s electro-mechanical product range to initiate and support technical discussions with customers.
* Leverage engineering expertise (electrical or mechanical) to contribute to the design and development of systems.
Key skills and experience:
* Proven experience in international sales and account management, particularly in delivering tailored technical solutions.
* Strong technical expertise in electro-mechanical industrial processes.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams within a small business or unit.
* Exceptional negotiation, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
* Familiarity with RF technology applications in fibre optics, semiconductor manufacturing, or related industries would be advantageous.
* Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
Candidate Profile:
Due to the nature and size of the business, there is scope for this role to be moulded around the specific skills and experience level of the right candidate. We are seeking individuals with a strong technical background and commercial acumen who can establish credibility when discussing technical solutions within the manufacturing process industry.
This opportunity may suit individuals from an industrial process environment, potentially with experience in field service, proposals, or contracts engineering, who has already transitioned into or is eager to move into a more senior strategic commercial role.
The ideal candidate will be a natural leader with an entrepreneurial mindset, capable of motivating both sales and engineering teams to achieve outstanding performance results.

Compensation and Benefits
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, performance bonus, up to 30%, car allowance £6,600 annually, pension: 6% company contribution, private health insurance (family cover) and life assurance.
