Position Overview
The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and support services for renewable energy installations, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. This role includes managing engineers, coordinating field operations, and maintaining close client relationships. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in renewable energy technologies and demonstrated leadership in service operations management.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Manage and supervise field engineers and support staff, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
Service Operations: Oversee all service and maintenance activities for renewable energy installations, including scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
Customer Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing service inquiries, providing updates, and ensuring the timely resolution of equipment performance issues.
Field Service Coordination: Organize and manage field service operations, dispatching engineers to various project sites, ensuring quick and effective responses to breakdowns.
Reporting & Documentation: Maintain detailed service records, including service schedules, work orders, repair logs, and cost tracking, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
Performance Monitoring: Track and report on equipment performance, service efficiency, and customer satisfaction, implementing improvement strategies where necessary.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all service activities comply with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments and safety audits as required.
Budget Management: Oversee the service department budget, ensuring costs are controlled and service activities remain profitable.
Continuous Improvement: Identify operational improvement opportunities, enhancing service delivery efficiency and the overall customer experience.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience in a service management or similar role, ideally within the renewable energy, construction, or heavy equipment sectors.
Strong technical knowledge of renewable energy systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team of engineers.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in service management software and reporting tools.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to the renewable energy and equipment maintenance industries.
