About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Occupational Health Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting occupational health services by conducting health assessments, screenings, and assisting in workplace health programs. This role is key in promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of employees across various industries.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct routine health surveillance checks, including hearing tests, lung function tests, blood pressure monitoring, and drug & alcohol testing.
2. Assist in pre-employment and periodic health screenings.
3. Support Occupational Health Advisors and Physicians in delivering health and well-being programs.
4. Maintain accurate health records in compliance with confidentiality and data protection regulations.
5. Provide basic first aid and emergency medical response as required.
6. Educate employees on health and wellness topics, including workplace ergonomics and healthy lifestyle choices.
7. Assist in risk assessments related to workplace health hazards.
8. Administer vaccinations and assist in health promotion campaigns.
9. Ensure medical equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience in an occupational health or healthcare setting is preferred.
2. A qualification in healthcare, occupational health, or a related field (e.g., first aid certification, NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent) is desirable.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and health-related software.
7. Willingness to travel between sites if required (a valid driver’s license may be necessary).
