Duties:
Responsible for leading a team of engineers,inspectors and project managers in the delivery of a localgovernment contract, including inspection, maintenance,strengthening and reconstruction of structuralassets.
Developing briefs, delivering and reviewinginspections, presenting feasibility studies and providing advice,assessing bridges and retaining walls.
Maintainingstrategies for inspections, monitoring and assessment andcommunicating requirements to, mentoring and developing the team toensure implementation to contract performance.
Creatingand managing the forward works programme, preparing and monitoringOPEX and CAPEX budgets.
Reviewing tender submissions,monitoring supply chain partner and sub-contractor compliance tolegislation and standards.
Review of Health and safetyplans and risk assessments, carrying out the duties of Designerwhere required by CDM regulations.
Experience:
The successful candidates will be aChartered Civil Engineer ( CEng MICE/MIStructE or equivalent), withexperience of BCI inspections and working knowledge of HighwayStructures design, maintenance and management, including codes ofpractice and British standards.
They will also haveprevious budgetary control, risk assessment and management,excellent communication, initiative and decision making skills,with the ability to prioritise workload.
Due to the dutiesof the role we are seeking a candidate who is based on or with ashort commuting distance of the Isle of Wight.
Discountedferry travel is available and a relocation package will beconsidered for right candidate.
Salary: £53-58,000 per annum, plus bonusand car/car allowance
