The Role:
Our client, a premier provider of advanced injection-molded packaging solutions for consumer goods, healthcare, and industrial sectors worldwide are seeking a Toolmaker to join their dynamic and progressive team.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain injection molds, compile standard specifications/procedures for each mold, and ensure existing molds meet these specifications.
* Oversee the manufacture and maintenance of jigs, fixtures, injection molding, and ancillary equipment in collaboration with the machine supplier.
* Collaborate with Process Engineers to troubleshoot mold issues.
* Schedule, attend, and facilitate internal meetings to establish priorities and assign tasks.
* Work with the Quality department to resolve customer-related problems and issues as needed.
* Research and implement new processes or systems for mold maintenance and manufacture with approved toolmakers, under the direction of the Toolroom Manager.
* Provide formal or informal instruction on manufacturing-related skills or knowledge and assist in training employees on new processes or systems.
* Coordinate the development of documentation in the toolmaking areas to comply with ISO 9001/ISO 13485 requirements, and regularly review these systems with Process Engineers, Group Leaders, and the Quality department to ensure conformance.
* Adhere to all local site company policies, procedures, and corporate policies.
* Perform additional duties as requested by the Toolroom Manager.
Qualifications/Requirements:
* Toolmaking qualification with extensive experience working as a toolmaker producing injection molds.
* Proven experience in injection mold making and mold maintenance environments.
* Proficiency in milling, turning, grinding, sparking, and fitting.
* Welding skills.
* Strong knowledge of mold maintenance and experience in supporting high-volume manufacturing environments.
* Experience in the manufacture and/or repair/maintenance of various mold types, including:
* Multi-cavity molds
* Hot Runner molds
* Valve gated molds
* Solid understanding of the injection molding process.
* Advantageous: Experience with technically challenging applications, such as medical or tight tolerance work.
* Ability to effectively interact with suppliers, customers, and external toolmakers.
* Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics is a plus.
* Minimum of 4 years of experience in a busy manufacturing environment.
