Job Summary
This Company Global Manufacturing Organization is seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to work under the Decarbonization and Sustainability Division to address environmental protection and performance aspects. The candidate should be familiar with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and have substantial experience in environmental regulations and standards. Additionally, the candidate should have work experience with overall refinery environmental performance calculation, daily monitoring, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Identifying deviations and developing solutions to environmental problems.
2. Performing waste minimization assessments and advising on the handling, treatment, and disposal of solid, liquid, hazardous, and toxic wastes.
3. Experience in establishing environmental business plans, objectives, emission baselines, and setting targets for key performance indicators such as flaring, SO2 emission, and hydrocarbon discharge to marine environments.
4. Preferably having adequate knowledge and experience in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) management, with strong data collection and analytic experience to observe GHG reduction opportunities and advice on performance improvement.
5. Strong management and coordination skills are necessary to lead and work with environmental teams in operating facilities under Global Manufacturing Excellence.
6. Monitor facility operating and business plans to ensure alignment with environmental protection policies and standards.
7. Conduct comprehensive environmental assessments and provide recommendations for improvement.
8. Develop, review, and implement Greenhouse Gas (GHG) management programs, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
9. Conduct internal GHG assurance audits and support preparation for third-party audits.
10. Monitor solids and chemical disposals to ensure compliance with environmental protection regulations.
11. Monitor air quality, wastewater management, water conservation, and waste management performance.
12. Establish environmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned with company policies and strategies.
13. Develop, review, and deploy facility environmental management systems in alignment with ISO 14001.
14. Develop and maintain environmental procedures and guidelines.
15. Conduct internal environmental performance benchmarking studies among oil and gas refineries.
16. Lead and support the development of solutions focused on emissions monitoring, tracking, and reduction.
17. Stay informed about international and regional regulations concerning emissions, waste management, water, and GHG ensuring alignment with compliance standards.
18. Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including field engineers, top-level executives, and regulatory bodies to meet industry needs.
19. Analyze complex data sets related to emissions, equipment efficiency, and other parameters to derive actionable insights for enhancement.
20. Oversee the program lifecycle from ideation to deployment, ensuring timely delivery and continuous improvement.
21. Organize technical exchange workshops among oil and gas refineries.
22. Develop and deliver training materials to promote environmental awareness among refinery personnel.
Requirements
1. Willingness to relocate to Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia.
2. Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
3. At least 10 years of experience in oil and gas refineries and petrochemicals.
4. Knowledge of the oil & gas refining industry and its environmental challenges and risks.
5. Familiarity with global and governmental environmental policies, regulations, and standards.
6. EPI/QEP certified professional (preferred).
7. Expertise in technical sustainability data calculation methodology and limitations.
8. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in environmental engineering.
9. Familiarity with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and its requirements.
10. Experience in developing decarbonization roadmaps, GHG emission baselines, and target setting.
11. Excellent computer and presentation skills.
12. Strong management and coordination abilities.
13. Proficient in English, both verbal and written.
14. Ability to work effectively under pressure.
