As a participant in this comprehensive program, you will have the opportunity to rotate across various Business Units (BUs) within your division. This rotation is designed to maximize your exposure to a diverse array of projects, enhancing your understanding of our operations and strategic objectives.
In addition to the inter-divisional rotations, you will also spend time within our Group Central Function. This segment of the program allows you to collaborate closely with senior team members, gaining invaluable insights and exposure from experienced professionals.
Furthermore, you will be enrolled in our tailored development scheme. This scheme is not just about honing your skills in your chosen field of expertise; it’s about fostering holistic professional growth. You’ll engage in activities that develop your leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities, ensuring you emerge as a well-rounded professional equipped to tackle the challenges of your role.
This multifaceted approach ensures that by the end of the program, you will have a robust understanding of our company’s inner workings and be well-prepared to contribute significantly to the success of Taylor Wimpey.
You will gain experience in:
1. Site Foundations: From instructing site investigation reports to understanding topographical surveys, you'll master the fundamentals of building on solid ground.
2. Road & Sewer Principles: Collaborate with industry-leading consultants, hone your AutoCAD skills, and grasp the intricacies of drainage design to create efficient, sustainable communities.
3. Engineering Process: Learn to navigate technical reports, manage submissions, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, all while supporting our land bids and legal processes.
4. Adoptions: Gain insights into post-construction management, bond reductions, and maintenance protocols, ensuring the longevity and prosperity of our developments.
5. Health, Safety and Environment: Identifying foreseeable risk in designs and ensure that processes are followed and recorded. Ensure that appropriate mitigation is taken with regards to environmental/ecological constraints to allow development to progress.
6. Land and Planning & Community Engagement: supports with technical submissions and approvals with the Land teams
7. Pre-Development: supports with all aspects of pre-development of sites which includes, securing technical reports and interpretating these, preparing engineering design and maintain records of any changes.
8. Development Management: support the sites from start to close, assisting the production team with any technical queries related to engineering.
What you will need:
9. A 2:1 Degree in a Built Environment or Construction Related Course
10. A Driving License
11. A Willingness to travel around your area
