We have an exciting opportunity to join us as the Delivery Excellence & Pathfinding Lead in our Enterprise Transformation Office team.

Location: This role could be based in either our Wythall, London or Edinburgh offices with time spent working in the office and at home. There would be a minimum of 2 days in the office.

Salary and benefits: £89,600 - £130,000, Plus an indicative bonus range of 30%-60% private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.

The role
The Enterprise Transformation Office (ETO) is at the heart of change delivery across the Phoenix Group. We are going to transform and simplify how we get change done and landed safely for our Customers, Shareholders and Stakeholders across the organisation. We will focus on outcomes and the delivery of our strategy. Our focus will be on developing a top class change capability, embracing new ways of working and instilling a culture of delivery excellence across the Group.
The Delivery Excellence and Pathfinding Lead will develop and lead a delivery excellence framework to standardise and safeguard federated delivery practices across the organisation to improve delivery predictability and achievement of outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive delivery excellence framework to standardise and safeguard federated delivery practices across the organisation.
2. Work closely with Business Architecture and Group Strategy to build and maintain strong understanding of Phoenix Strategy, TOM and transition states embedding outcome-based change delivery across Phoenix to demonstrate progress to the Enterprise end state.
3. Support the mobilisation of change across the Hubs and ensure programmes are set up for success in a federated change model.
4. Design and implement pathfinding practices to improve project outcomes where there is likely to be a large degree of emergent decision making, trade-offs, discovery, and requirements.
5. Lead post project reviews and lessons learned sessions to gather feedback, RCA and areas for improvement.
6. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging and supporting change teams / hubs to adopt new tools, techniques and ways of working that can enhance delivery performance.
7. Enable delivery teams to safely self certify through an insight driven gating framework with support from group functions including Group IT, Strategy and Finance.
8. Build delivery prediction capability – measurably reduce over-optimistic delivery plans and benefits.
9. Create and maintain a robust understanding of Enterprise wide constraints management – minimise constraints not known or not fully taken into account in plans – largely caused by key person, technical feasibility or 3rd party constraints.
10. Support capability development through root cause analysis of delivery success and challenges.
11. Support move to a product and platform model, new ways of working to improve delivery outcomes.
12. Build a strong network across Phoenix ExCo to develop the Phoenix Sponsor community to increase delivery accountability and success.
What are we looking for?
1. Proficient experience in change delivery roles at a senior level via various methodologies (ie leading transformational programmes, or portfolios of change projects through Agile, Waterfall, Product & Platform etc).
2. Demonstrable experience in change capability assessment and implementation of remedies / strategies to improve delivery certainty and efficiency.
3. Significant experience working with architecture communities to translate strategy into change delivery plans and proficient in supporting sponsors to build realistic plans built on transparent planning assumptions and proof points.
4. Experienced in working across an outcome focussed organisation providing consultancy and problem solving support.
5. An innovative creative thinker, experienced in building strong relationships with Senior Executives / stakeholders and becoming a trusted business partner to support delivery of the Group outcomes.
