Job Title: Midday Supervisor and Playleader
Reports to: Deputy Headteacher
Responsible to the Deputy Head for work related and personnel issues. The Head has direct responsibility for matters relating to pupil behaviour and playground management.
Responsible for the direct supervision, safety and welfare of pupils on school premises during the mid-day break period.
You should:

Duties: This is an example list of the range of duties you may be asked to undertake and is not exclusive.
* leading play activities at lunchtimes either on the playground or in a class inside school.
* supporting Little Explorers in nursery and pre-school with eating lunch and being in the learning environment
* Responsibility for the direct supervision, safety and welfare of pupils on school premises (including all play areas) during the mid-day break period. Responsible to the Headteacher for matters relating to pupil behaviour and safeguarding.
* The supervision of the entry of children into the dining room or eating area and their behaviour in it.
* The encouragement in the establishment of good eating habits and acceptable table behaviour, including the training for young children in the proper use of knives/forks/spoons.
* To be supportive and encourage pupils, in particular, new intake and infants, with regard to eating the meals provided. To bring to the attention of the Teacher and/or the Headteacher any particular problems with regard to individual pupils etc.
* Setting out of tables and chairs etc. before meals.
* Supervision of pupils returning trays, cutlery ad beakers to clearing points.
* Assisting generally during the service of the meal as required by the Business Manager.
* After the meal wiping down of all tables and chairs so that they are clean, hygienic and ready for use again. Cleaning of the hall floor ready for use in the afternoon.
* The safe stacking of all tables and chairs in the hall store, ensuring that they are not a hazard to others entering the store room.
* Ensuring that pupils staying at school for the mid-day meal do not leave the premises without permission of the Headteacher or one of her staff.
* Any other duties commensurate with the effective operation of the School Catering Service, as may be requested from time to time.
* Basic first aid
All duties should follow the advice contained within the School’s Health and Safety guidelines.
