Role Overview:
Working for a major Highstreet clothing and footwear retailer as part of the Global Freight Management team. Collaborating with the Import Supply Chain Planner team members, Product Development, Merchandising, Finance, and DC teams, as well as our freight forwarding partners, to facilitate the smooth shipping of private label brands including Pink Soda, Sonneti, Supply & Demand, along with licensed brands such as Reebok and Fila.
This is an exciting opportunity within a growing international retailer, helping the team work in partnership with joint ventures and solely owned partners in Australasia, USA, Middle East, and Central Europe to ensure the goods arrive at the relevant global warehouses on time for the Brands.
Role Requirements:
* Manage the administration and shipping duties required by the Global Freight team, including planning and tracking shipments for UK and European distribution.
* Track shipments from ex-factory through to on-time receipt at the warehouse.
* Plan shipments, costs, and timelines.
* Work closely with freight forwarders to maximize container fill and minimize dwell times.
* Establish excellent working relationships with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and freight forwarders to ensure timely shipments and minimize delays.
* Support the development and creation of reporting on current shipment status, highlighting potential issues.
* Monitor performance of factories, forwarders, and hauliers to optimize on-time, in-full deliveries.
* Coordinate airfreight costing and transport.
* Develop and complete transit shipping reports using different software sources, ensuring system functionality and full end-to-end visibility.
* Communicate transport/transit issues to relevant teams, escalating issues promptly when necessary.
* Manage timely and accurate freight invoice sign-off.
* Track and improve KPIs.
* Raise supplier claims.
* Execute tasks with a focus on continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for better processes and systems.
* Support the refresh of SOPs, annual tender activity, and transformation projects such as new system enhancements and integrations.
* Support the development of carbon emission reporting for freight movements, working to minimize emissions.
* Stay updated with all import procedures, including duties and customs requirements.
Position Requirements – mandatory:
