The Reconnecting Bernwood Otmoor Ray (RBOR) Nature and Greenspaces Officer will help nature recover by working with stakeholders on the development of a series of projects that take, or support, action to improve outcomes for wildlife and harness additional benefits for communities. Reconnecting Bernwood Otmoor Ray (RBOR) is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to create a programme which will build foundations with key stakeholders, landowners, land managers, and communities to enable landscape and species recovery in Bernwood, Otmoor and the Ray (BOR) over the long-term, for the benefit of heritage, nature and people. Job Purpose This post is part of the Reconnecting Bernwood Otmoor and Ray NHLF programme and will manage delivery of development projects under the Nature Recovery theme. Reporting Line The post holder reports to the Programme Manager. Line Management No line management responsibility. Key Responsibilities Engaging and working with landowners, farmers and partners to deliver survey work across the project areaAssisting programme lead with setting up contracts and managing external consultants Collate data from external consultants and partners, undertake mapping and identify, using GIS and landowner engagement, key delivery sites and gaps in participation Work closely with consultants to design and deliver user surveys for greenspaces Work closely with colleagues across our landscape recovery, reserves and communities' teams along with programme partners to support development of projects and capital works to be undertaken in delivery phase Identify and engage additional farmers/landowners with the programme area who are willing to undertake habitat creation/restoration projects Contribute to development of an Area Action Plan for Round 2 application Any other duties as delegated by the Chief Executive. Person Specification Experience of working with a range of stakeholders in a partnership setting Experience of working with farmers and landowners on ecological projects Ecological survey and practical habitat management experience Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines Knowledge of agri-environment schemes Competent in use of ArcGIS Competent in use of MS Office functions such as Word and Outlook and advanced Excel Ability and willingness to demonstrate the BBOWT behaviours and values Current UK valid car driving licence Measurements Of Success Nature Recovery projects for Round 2 NHLF application developed along with supporting maps and documents Effective representation of BBOWT with project partners and farmers/landowners
