Purpose of Post: An Assistant Manager is required to manage the Duty Managers, Supervisors, Recreation Assistants, Casual Recreation Assistants, Receptionists, Personal Trainers & support the Club Manager. Generic Responsibilities:
* To manage & oversee the health and safety of the Sports Club in the absence of the Manager.
* To assist the Club Manager in the operational running of the St Mary's Calne Sports Club.
* Ensure that the swimming pool & fitness suite are supervised at the required times.
* Ensure the Administrator & Finance Officer's administrative & financial procedures are enforced.
* To cover the Duty Managers during leave/sickness or when necessary. Shift hours will be applicable.
* To support and ensure the front of house operational systems are enforced.
* Assist with the Sports Club's health & safety management approach.
* Assist with the Sports Club's normal operating procedures.
* To assist with staff appraisals & personnel development.
* To carry out regular audits & reviews within your area of responsibility & identify the necessary improvements.
* Assist with the treatment of first aid & ensure accident reports are completed where necessary.
* Assist with all emergency procedures & ensure that members & pupils are not exposed to unnecessary risks.
* To ensure that all staff wear correct uniform & use PPE (personal protective equipment) where required.
* To ensure visits to the club by members & pupils are enjoyable & assist with any enquiries or problems.
* To ensure the effective running of St Mary's Calne Sports Club for the community.
* To assist with recruitment (including advertising) & managing staff for the facility.
* Assist with setting up appropriate administration.
Specific Responsibilities:
* Assist the management team including the marketing coordinator to maintain a continuous membership target set annually.
* Manage the Duty Managers and ensure they are carrying out their role effectively.
* Oversee the development of the St Mary's Swim School programme, monitoring occupancy and revenue.
* Oversee the management of programming including the school term and holiday programmes.
* Oversee the Fitness Suite operation in conjunction with the Club Manager.
* Oversee the management of courses to generate additional secondary income, including holiday clubs, community clubs and non-term time activities.
* Manage the Sports Club email system and assign various emails to relevant departments for actioning.
* Manage the development of the front of house systems i.e. bookings & point of sale.
* Assist with business and project management, including the annual sports development strategy of the business.
* Manage certain operational budgets.
* Assist with event management including outreach, marketing events and open weekends.
* Assist with the commercial strategy of the Sports Club and oversee all wetside and dryside facility bookings including external bookings.
* Manage the internal leisure management hardware and software systems, including; Advantage, Dimension, Self Service Config (Horizons), Leisure Hub, Technogym Custom App (St Mary's Health), Management Console, XN Product Framework, Doorwatch Access Control System and the Quick Kiosk.
* Assist the marketing coordinator with club retention software and customer communication, including automated NPS and internal feedback.
* Monitor and communicate with internal I.T department and 3^rd party suppliers to ensure all leisure management systems and software used by the Sports Club remain up to date.
* Manage GDPR policy and manage customer data, including promywellness (Technogym), TRP (The Retention People) and the XN Leisure GDPR module.
We are seeking to employ an Assistant Manager who will be part of the senior management team to help manage the general building on a day-to-day basis as well as taking on the responsibility of Operations & Development. * Developing the facility for pupils' use.
* Liaising with the Headmistress of St Mary's School, Head of St Margaret's School & Director of PE at both schools.
* Ensuring the facility is available for use by teaching staff as required.
* Supporting the teaching staff as necessary.
These responsibilities are not exhaustive & may include any other reasonable duties as required by the Sports Club Manager, Bursar or Headmistress of St Mary's or Head of St Margaret's.
Essential: IT literate & excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office. Essential: GCSEs in English & Mathematics (Grade C or above). Essential: A professional qualification or relevant experience in leisure preferably operations. Desirable: Experience in leisure management. Desirable: Nationally recognised fitness qualification. Desirable: Good typing & administrative skills. Desirable: First Aid at Work qualification. Desirable: Nationally recognised Health & Safety qualification. Desirable: Experience and knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. Desirable: Knowledge of XN Leisure Back Office systems. Personality & Attitude:
