Role Description:
HHFT have an exciting opportunity to join our paediatric psychology team.
We are looking for a Senior Clinical Psychologist/ Applied Psychologist who has skills, experience and interest in working with parents whose baby is under the care of the neonatal unit at Basingstoke Hospital.
This post is a fixed term, up to 12 months, maternity cover post from April 2025.
• This post has a key focus on supporting families and staff within the BNHH neonatal unit (0.2 wte).
• The remaining sessions will be supporting children and families referred under the general paediatric psychology care pathway for children, young people and their families living with chronic health conditions, to improve their quality of life and well-being.
• This is a fixed term 22.5 hours per week, part-time band 8a position based at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.
• The post holder will provide psychological support to parents while their baby is under the care of the BNHH neonatal unit.
• This post involves providing evidence-based psychological interventions to children and young people referred with a broad range of physical health conditions including; cystic fibrosis, respiratory conditions, cardiac, epilepsy, oncology, allergies, chronic pain, and persistent physical symptom presentations.
• We provide outpatient assessment and therapy and some inpatient input.

• You will be well supported by MDT-colleagues, psychology team members and receive regular clinical supervision from a principal psychologist and speciality support from within the Thames Valley and Wessex Neonatal Regional Network

• We have good links with the D. Clin course at the University of Southampton, whose trainees come on placement with us.
