Role purpose Ricardo is looking to find a pro-active and motivated individual to join its Group finance team, based in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex. The role offers the opportunity to be a key member of a fast-paced team in a dynamic, international Group and is ideal for an individual looking to gain a wide range of experience across both monthly management accounting and external financial reporting. The individual will be expected to develop good working relationships across the Group and with external parties, such as tax advisers and auditors. It is intended that the individual carrying out this role would be suitable for cover and for progression into other Group finance roles or into a finance role within a business unit. The role will report to the Group Head of Reporting. Key responsibilities Monthly management accounting and planning Supporting the preparation of the month-end management accounts and Group consolidation, including monthly Group-level postings and adjustments, order intake reporting; Preparation of analysis to support the monthly management Board reporting and other monthly external reporting and analysis; Month-end accounting system report maintenance and report design/building; Supporting the preparation/consolidation of Group forecasting analysis and modelling; and Supporting the Group budget and planning process, including timetable/ management of inputs, supporting consolidation of the Group’s business unit submissions. Financial reporting Supporting the preparation of the half year and full year consolidated financial statements (including preparation of analysis for notes to the accounts) and subsidiary statutory accounts; Administration of half year and full year reporting timetables, assisting with the coordination of inputs from the Group’s business units, collation of data and coordination with other workstreams outside the Group finance team; Collection and consolidation of data from the Group’s business units to prepare analysis for the accounts – analyse and challenge the data to ensure consistency and accuracy; Coordination with Business Unit finance teams and the Group’s external auditors to ensure audit deadlines are met; Supporting the compilation of the Group annual report; and Supporting the preparation of analysis for half year and full year results presentations. Other Involvement in Group finance-led projects, including continuous improvement of controls and processes. Skills and behaviours Part-qualified or qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CA). Proficient in Excel and Excel modelling. Previous experience with consolidation systems is desirable. Strong analysis and written skills, a clear communicator. Ability to plan workload along with a commitment to deliver against agreed deadlines. Pro-active, organised with an attention to detail.
