This is an exciting opportunity to join the General Surgical Team at Glangwili General Hospital. Applications are invited from efficient and suitably qualified individuals for the post of a full-time Clinical Secretary within the General Surgical Team based at Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen on a permanent basis.
Main duties of the job
Working 37.5 hours per week, the successful candidate will be required to support the delivery of a comprehensive and quality secretarial service to the ENT Consultants and their teams and support the Medical Secretaries.
You will undertake a wide range of duties including receipt and distribution of mail, audio transcription, and the typing of highly sensitive letters and reports, maintaining confidentiality at all times, in addition to operation of the Health Board's patient database system. You will be expected to demonstrate excellent organisation skills and be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work. You must be able to work on your initiative, use tact and diplomacy where appropriate and possess excellent communication skills.
Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and E-Mail, coupled with proven secretarial skills and previous experience of minute taking is essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

* Previous experience of working in an administrative / office environment
* Experience in minute taking and organising meetings and events
* Computer literate and proficient in using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), including use of internet search engines
* Experience of data entry and maintaining spreadsheets
* Experience of dealing with public, health care professionals and health board staff at all levels

Qualifications and Knowledge
* General standard of education; 5 GCSE's or equivalent
