Position Overview
We are looking to hire a Category Manager for our Beers, Wines, and Spirits category. In this role, you will own the end-to-end procurement process for your category. You will be responsible for planning and executing Beers, Wine, and Spirits Procurement strategy and identifying value and commercial gains, as well as unlocking contract renewals and new innovational business requirements. The Category encompasses a broad spectrum of Brands and client requirements which are crucial for Foodbuy's growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Management and leading the end-to-end procurement process across all Compass and Foodbuy Group lead projects.
2. Defining in collaboration within our internal teams and sales team on the strategy for all new Foodbuy lead contracts whilst identifying the best commercial value model.
3. Understanding how you contribute to the wider Foodbuy Group with regards to savings and your category.
4. Supporting on our RFX sourcing framework and drive competition through running robust end-to-end tenders, negotiations, and eAuctions; making data-driven decisions based on facts and analysis of total cost of ownership.
5. Cultivating and developing continued positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders that will help to deliver the category Procurement strategies to realize business savings.
6. Working alongside our brand Commercial Directors and GPO clients to execute transformation projects and engage with key stakeholders.
7. Supporting innovation and Sustainability goals for end clients.
8. Building and being part of the delivery of category plans by being at the forefront of innovative and collaborative relationships to help deliver for our end clients.
9. Actively minimizing revenue and capital costs through improved use of tools and processes.
10. Consistently tracking and reporting on savings targets.
11. Communicating the value of the Procurement function to the business.
Skills and Experience Required
1. Highly results-oriented and analytical.
2. Confident presenter and able to work across different levels of seniority.
3. Experience in the alcohol industry and procurement.
4. Strong negotiation skills and experience running sourcing events.
5. Natural and articulate around management with good listening skills.
6. Strong decision maker, with a strong commercial acumen who is comfortable working under pressure.
7. Proven ability to reduce costs against tough market backdrops.
8. Evidence of an ability to work cross-functionally.
9. Advanced computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
10. Analytical and methodical with the ability to multi-task and maintain a strategic viewpoint.
11. Genuine team player with a keen interest in sustainability and materials.
12. Customer and market focus – stays close to customers, suppliers & competitors to create market leadership for the business.
13. Competent with procurement systems, ideally having used these in current/previous employment.
