The Recruitment Co are looking for a Field Service Engineer to diagnose faults, repair and test equipment for a leading plant hire company due to expanding their team.
What to Expect in this Role:
1. Receiving electronic (written and verbal) instructions in the form of a handheld PDA, in the event of breakdown.
2. Undertake comprehensive risk assessments and ensure safe working practices are in place whilst undertaking work.
3. Diagnose faults and report to Supervisor/Manager for instructions on whether to proceed with repair.
4. Identify and liaise with Supervisor/Manager where extra work is found to be necessary.
5. Ensure that full authority is obtained before undertaking any extra work.
What We Need from You:
1. Ensure that safety standards are maintained.
2. Obtain the necessary parts from stores.
3. Effect repair and testing in a timely manner.
4. Accurately complete and sign off on all job cards (electronic or written), providing a full description of the work carried out.
5. Maintain acceptable standards of discipline.
6. Advise supervisor when completion times cannot be met.
7. Where necessary, discuss vehicle concerns directly with the customer.
