We have an opportunity for a Head of Campaigns, to join our Communications Team. Ofwat's communications team plays a crucial part in the delivery of Ofwat's strategy, working across the business to encourage effective engagement and communication amongst our own people and with external audiences. It is a very collaborative team which takes an integrated approach to communications in a fast-changing sector.
We are Ofwat, the Water Services Regulation Authority, a non-ministerial government department responsible for regulating the water sector in England and Wales. We are at the source of everyday life. We help the sector build trust and confidence with customers, the environment and wider society: keeping water flowing, bills affordable and helping ensure the health of our rivers and waterways.
Our work is high-profile and fast-moving, within a dynamic and agile environment. The work that youll be involved in every day will help us to deliver our strategy, to make us the regulator we want to be and help the sector to deliver for customers and society.
You can find out more about why you should join Ofwat, our strategy, values and our framework for success in the attached Information for Candidates Pack., This is an exciting new role which will help to develop and oversee the delivery of national behaviour change campaigns, such as the Water Efficiency Fund Campaign - focused on promoting water efficiency and sustainability.
By 2050 England and Wales will need more than 4 billion extra litres of water available per year - that's equivalent to needing an extra 25% of the water currently supplied. The extra water is needed to:
+ Protect habitats by taking less water from the environment.
+ Reduce the likelihood of interruptions to supply by increasing resilience to drought.
+ Support the economy and supply a growing population.
+ Adapt to changing water availability driven by the impacts of climate change.
At least half of this extra water is expected to come from promoting water efficiency and reducing leakage. We intend to create a £100 million fund to help stimulate a transformative, sustained and measurable reduction in water demand in England and Wales by using a range of water efficiency approaches. You will play a key role in helping us deliver it.
