Senior Category Pricing Analyst
What will you do?
You will work as part of the group pricing team, helping deliver the best commercial decisions for the business. This will be achieved by owning and leading the implementation of our pricing strategy, supporting in its development and leading on initiatives such as our price investment programme and cost price inflation. These activities will ensure the delivery of consistent and competitive prices for our colleagues and customers.
Some accountabilities of the role:
* Manage and own analytical projects; leveraging data from multiple sources including competitor matches, TP sales and pricing data. Shape and deliver key performance metrics which help the business understand and improve category profitability, sales and customer appeal.
* Implement the pricing strategy across the business, setting and maintaining pricing levels in the system.
* Work alongside Commercial & Sales teams to ensure the pricing strategy supports broader business objectives and be the key contact for all things pricing.
* Provide solutions to challenges which produce a holistic approach to the strategy of an entire category.
* Deliver and present reports for monthly steering groups that provide the senior team with information which is easily understood and can be used to drive action.
* Continuously challenge current processes and recommend improvements to all aspects of pricing. Strive to improve processes and reduce time on data production so analysis becomes the key focus.
* Support the wider commercial function with the delivery of additional business initiatives when required.
* Be an active member of the team who seeks out new opportunities both within and beyond the remit of their current role and has a willingness to work across all areas of the team to assist others.
What you’ll need to have/be:
* Degree-level educated.
* Demonstrate progression/breadth of experience in career to date.
* Demonstrate ability to lead and support junior members of the team.
* Data analytical skills.
* Strong communication skills.
* Strong SQL capabilities.
* Commercial acumen.
* Well organised / ability to prioritise / good under pressure / ability to work on own initiative.
