An exciting opportunity has become available working as a Senior Project Manager for a trusted Housing Association.
This is a permanent opportunity, hybrid working on average 1-2 days per week in their offices based near Stafford, Birmingham.
As the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the project teams to deliver complex programmes of work that span across multiple business units but mainly IT. You will be expected to manage financials, schedules, resources, and adhere to SDLC control guidelines. This also includes management of project change requests, risks and issues to ensure on-time and successful project delivery. You will have the authority to run projects on a day-to-day basis. Working to deliverable around quality, time constraints and costings, to achieve the best potential benefits defined in the business case.
Responsibilities as Senior Project Manager
1. Manage a portfolio of initiatives and projects spanning business and IT departments, demonstrating and reporting to full governance adherence.
2. Provide on-site leadership by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones and monitoring their performance.
3. Manage day-to-day project activities and resources, and chair the project management team meetings, reporting on project results, metrics, governance adherence, planning and deployment management, and provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues.
4. Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project.
5. Participate and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate stakeholders.
6. Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature capabilities for the organisation.
7. Develop and manage all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues.
8. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to various audiences, including ELT, project team, sponsors, CIO and stakeholders.
9. Ensure that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards.
Skills and Experience required
10. Experience in Governance & SDLC Methodologies, Agile, SCRUM, SDLC/Waterfall
11. 5 years of Project Management experience, including tracking and planning projects, working with IT and Business stakeholders and leading projects to be on-time, on-schedule and within budget.
12. 3 years' experience with full product lifecycle with an understanding of development lifecycles and various technology methodologies.
13. Varying experience with MS Project, Excel, Viso, PowerPoint, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Smartsheet and Lucid Chart with experience presenting to stakeholders.
14. Research best practices within and outside the organisation to establish benchmark data and use continuous process improvement disciplines to achieve results.
15. Experience in negotiating vendor contracts and drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending budget changes.
16. Experience leading, motivating and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources.
17. Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors and demonstrate communication skills both and oral with technical and non-technical staff.
18. Able to set and monitor performance goals performance goals and ensure standards are met, and plan, prioritise and execute both own workload as well as workload of direct and indirect reports.
This is a permanent opportunity, to work for a trusted Housing Association based near Stafford, Birmingham. Paying around £55, per annum, plus good company benefits and hybrid working of 1/2 days per week in the office on average, as this is a project based role, days in the office will be dictated by the project and how close it is to completion.
