HR Officer / Assistant

Our Partner School in Barking is urgently seeking a HR Officer or HR Assistant to cover long term sickness.
A great opportunity to join a growing, modern school. You will need to have experience of HR in Schools and must have SIMS experience.
Core responsibilities and duties:
1. Ensure all staff absence is recorded accurately within SIMS and Every HR.
2. Generate accurate weekly staff absence reports in a timely manner.
3. Arrange and ensure return to work meetings and absence management meetings are conducted within the correct timescales.
4. Maintain personnel files accurately, ensuring compliance with GDPR and school policy.
5. Keep sensitive data secure and handle personnel and absence information discreetly.
6. Stay updated on current legislation and Trust policies relating to staff absence and sickness.
7. Arrange probation review meetings and annual appraisals within the correct timescales.
8. Assist with recruitment of new staff, ensuring a welcoming and efficient interview process.
9. Assist with allocation of cover and booking supply staff as necessary.
10. Check and authorize timesheets accurately at the end of each week.
11. Act as Fire Marshall and assist the Human Resources Manager during evacuations.
12. Cover duties for absent colleagues as requested by the Human Resources Manager or School Business Leader.
Due to immediate need, you must have an Enhanced DBS on the update service and Right to Work in the UK. Full online registration will be required.
