Job description
Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer - Water Treatment Industry
Location: South Coast (Hybrid Working)
Contract Type: Outside IR35, Contract Position
Position Overview: As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of electrical systems for water treatment facilities. Working in a collaborative environment, you will utilize your technical expertise to design, implement, and optimize electrical solutions that meet project requirements and industry standards. This is a contract position offering the opportunity for hybrid working, with two days in the office every fortnight.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop electrical systems for water treatment plants, including power distribution, control systems, instrumentation, and automation.
2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical designs with overall project requirements.
3. Perform detailed electrical calculations, simulations, and analysis to ensure system performance and reliability.
4. Create and review technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and schematics.
5. Conduct feasibility studies and evaluations of new technologies to enhance system efficiency and effectiveness.
6. Support project managers in coordinating project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
7. Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
8. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
9. Proven experience in electrical design, preferably in the water treatment or related industry.
10. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and electrical design tools.
11. Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
12. Experience with PLC programming and SCADA systems is highly desirable.
13. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
14. Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
15. Proactive mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
