About us
The Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) is an independent social change organisation working to support and speed up the transition to a more equitable and just future, free from poverty, where people and planet can flourish. We work across all nations of the UK to inspire positive change, ensuring dignity and respect for everyone.
The role:
This pivotal role requires a diplomatic, structured, and resilient leader who can navigate complex organisational dynamics with a calm demeanour. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of working well with a trade union partner and comprehensive knowledge of reward and benefits structures.
The role will report to the Group Chief Executive, Paul Kissack, and will form part of the senior leadership team at JRF. You will also interact closely with a board of Trustees, and provide support and advice as needed across the group, including the Foundation’s subsidiary – the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust (which has its own People Team). You will inherit a people strategy and OD change already in play and you will have the experience and skills to develop and implement that strategy as a part of an established Executive Team.
A full job description is available which details all of the expectations, but you will be an experienced and broad HR generalist with a track record of moving between operational and strategic issues with ease, dealing with complex reward issues and working with & supporting executive teams and boards of trustees.
At JRF, you will be part of a dedicated team working towards a just and equitable society. We offer a collaborative work environment, flexibility in how we work, opportunities for professional development, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of many.
