The Role: You will play a pivotal role in delivering a critical MoD network infrastructure programme. While not an architect, you will lead network design efforts, building secure and scalable solutions that meet stringent requirements. Your responsibilities include researching, planning, and developing high- and low-level design artefacts, ensuring seamless implementation and service handovers. Beyond design, you will take a hands-on approach to technical configurations, automating deployments where possible and maintaining professional documentation. Additionally, you will provide 4th Line support, collaborating directly with vendors to resolve complex issues, ensuring a future-ready and resilient network infrastructure. Essential Requirements: Sole UK National with active SC and/or DV clearance. Proven experience in delivering high-quality solutions and structured documentation. Strong expertise in network design artefacts, including architectural overviews and detailed designs. In-depth knowledge of OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, NAT, GRE, DMVPN and subnetting Ability to automate network configuration and software deployment. Hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching appliances, including impact assessments and secure infrastructure solutions. Familiarity with Juniper SRX, Fortinet FortiGate, Cisco ASA, and McAfee MFE appliances is advantageous.
