Description Salary : Base salary: £38,550 to £45,350 depending on skills and experience. As an Internal Communications Manager at HS2 you will support the delivery of internal communications and engagement to inform and engage employees on HS2’s progress against its purpose and priorities and help them understand how they contribute towards successful performance. About the role: • Work with the wider team to support the delivery of internal communications to inform and engage employees on business priorities and key milestones in delivering the railway • Work with the Senior Internal Channels and Content Manager to provide an editorial calendar of content that brings to life the organisations priorities and shows progress in their delivery • Work with the Senior Engagement Manager to deliver an employee experience strategy and approach which helps ensure employees feel connected to our business, with a focus on our values. Ensure appropriate activities (e.g. Values Weeks, Values Awards) and measures in place (e.g. regular engagement surveys) to help colleagues feel that HS2 Ltd is a great place to work • Produce and publish internal communications content across channels as required, ensuring content is accessible, consistent and aligned to strategic business priorities and corporate KPIs • Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI About You: Skills: • The ability to plan, execute and complete projects on time and to required quality standards • The ability to develop and deliver engaging internal communications messaging, aligned with strategic business objectives across a range of communications channels • The ability to influence and negotiate with internal stakeholders • Ability to grasp, understand and promote complex and sensitive issues in a persuasive way to different audience groups • Ability to work with ambiguity and rapidly changing circumstances Knowledge: • Knowledge of the development, delivery and measurement of best practice internal communications and engagement and their role in enhancing business performance • Working knowledge of new and emerging internal communications tools, techniques and channels as well as evaluation techniques and practices. • Knowledge of best practice employee engagement processes, including change management practices, tools and techniques • Understanding of how to promote complex and sensitive issues in a persuasive way to different audiences Type of experience: • Developing and delivering comprehensive, evidence-based internal communications strategies and plans aligned with wider business objectives • Development, delivery, and measurement of internal communications and resources planning, defining the processes and structures required to achieve success • Delivering to agreed deadlines in a fast-changing environment • Experience of designing and writing content for a range of channels Behavioural competencies: The post-holder is expected to behave at all times in a manner consistent with HS2’s • Health and Safety strategy and principles • Company values It is expected that you will actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
