Job Description
The Domain Operations team currently comprises a Team Leader and 11 engineers. We are seeking an engineer to join our Domain Operations team who can proactively manage and maintain a suite of systems and solutions. This is achieved through administering second and third line support and coordinating operational activity. You will provide support for the identification, extraction, analysis, and presentation of business data to provide historical, current, and predictive views of business operations (BI). The role provides room for learning and development in new skills and provides a pipeline for progression to reflect personal development. You will be working with people who are passionate about delivering high-quality products and services.
Although the job can be worked on a flexible basis, the jobholder will be required to participate in a cover rota, which will occasionally include some out-of-hours and weekend working.
Role Requirements
This role will include:
* Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to incidents, requests, and problems (as defined by ITIL).
* Coordinate operational activity for a set of systems/services.
* Provide technical skills and knowledge including SQL, SSH, and Windows Server administration.
* Debugging application and database source code.
* Minimize the number of calls that are advanced through to 3rd line teams.
* Actively run major/significant IT incidents alongside junior team members.
* Be part of a high-performing team forming strong and impactful relationships.
* Proactively seek out and implement system improvements that result in increased team performance against Technology’s SLA Targets.
* Coach and mentor others.
* Invest time in professional and personal development.
Minimum (Essential) Criteria
* Basic SQL & BI application knowledge.
* Operational support experience.
* Ability to identify and call out risks in the interests of protecting Live service/systems.
* Ability to effectively prioritize work.
* A high level of integrity, organization, and self-motivation.
* An understanding of good team practice and the ability to work with others sharing knowledge/experience when appropriate.
* Good interpersonal communication skills with an ability to interpret and present information to a variety of recipients using suitable modes of communication.
* The ability to create concise, informative user documentation.
* A team member who takes pride in the work they deliver and their contribution to the team.
Salary and Benefits Information
We encourage flexible working, part-time working, and job share arrangements. Part-time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate.
We offer a salary as follows:
Leeds circa £36,400 - £40,950
London circa £40,480 - £45,540
In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below:
* A non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/95th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/50th) or decrease (to 1/120th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year.

* A 8% benefits allowance with the option to take as salary or purchase a wide range of flexible benefits.
