About the Role
As Design Manager, you will lead and coordinate the design process across multiple projects, ensuring smooth collaboration between architects, engineers, and project teams to deliver outstanding results that meet both client expectations and our quality standards. You’ll work closely with project stakeholders to ensure designs align with budgets, timelines, and regulatory requirements. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to manage and influence design within a thriving company that values innovation, sustainability, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
•\tDesign Leadership: Manage and coordinate all design activities, from concept to completion, across refurbishment and construction projects.
•\tProject Coordination: Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless integration of design and construction efforts.
•\tQuality Assurance: Oversee design quality, ensuring all projects meet company standards and client expectations.
•\tBudget and Schedule Management: Ensure design solutions align with project budgets and timelines, managing any required changes effectively.
•\tRisk Management: Identify and mitigate design-related risks, ensuring all projects adhere to regulatory and compliance standards.
•\tClient Liaison: Serve as the main point of contact for clients during the design phase, offering expertise, guidance, and updates.
Requirements
•\tExperience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Design Manager role within the construction or refurbishment industry is preferable but not essential.
•\tQualifications: Degree or equivalent in Architecture, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
•\tSkills: Strong understanding of design and construction processes, regulatory standards, and project management.
•\tSoftware Proficiency: Experience with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and project management tools.
•\tCommunication: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and project teams.
•\tFlexibility: Willingness to travel within the UK as needed.
