DESCRIPTION
The On The Road (OTR) manager is a pivotal role which maximises OTR operations and DA experience.
Excellent at leveraging operational and stakeholder relationships, they are the custodian of DSP and DA experience at station level ensuring the highest standards around DA Engagement; creating a ‘win-win’ culture between Operations and the DSPs
Key job responsibilities
- Working with OTR safety and site operations to deliver regional safety metrics
- Lead OTR performance improvement across the region and provide RLT weekly visibility, including solutions
- Deliver Regional WBR for on-road performance (DSP scorecard / Ops Scorecard) for the region.
- Leading improvement activities in key priority areas for the Region (e.g. DA ratios, rostering performance, nursery compliance, DNR)
- Experience: Create sustainable business practices that create a ‘win-win’ culture between Operations and the DSPs
- Ensure a best in class DA experience at site level and coordinates DA engagement across region.
- Be the voice of the DSP within the operational region.
- Working with site operations, ACES and CO ensure routing efficiency and best practice is followed to improve CPP.
- Owns, delivers and executes the regional resourcing plans (e.g. DA moves, % changes, capacity risk management)
- Execution of the DA Ramp up and down plan
- Plan Regional network changes (PCD, mech changes, launches)
- Coordinate OTR ACES and OTR Safety projects across the region.
- Dotted-line leadership of the regional AMDO and SMDO Community
- Partner with Senior Regional Manager as key stakeholder
A day in the life
The OTR manager defines the medium-term OTR strategy, leading and influencing both internal and external stakeholders.
They take the lead for OTR capacity planning, OTR Ramp plans and work closely with UK capacity team, Business Coaches, OTR ACES, OTR Safety and Community teams to implement best practice.
They work closely with site DSMs and Delivery Ops as a trusted OTR SME partner.
They are required to work flexibly and required to travel between multiple sites weekly. The role is field based aligned to up to 6 Last Mile Delivery Stations plus associated nodes which requires a significant level of travel.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree or relevant industry experience
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Tenacity to develop ideas independently considering multiple stakeholders and requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to support influencing and presenting new ideas to multiple managerial levels within AMZL and DSP. Analytical with excellent problem solving skills to improve current processes.
- Proficient in Excel
