The appointed person will be involved in preparing the classroom for the children prior to their arrival and packing away afterwards.
Resources will need to be set out and additional activities may be prepared. In the afternoons, a snack will need to be prepared.
The play worker is expected to join in and support the children to develop their ideas and activities effectively and safely.
You will maintain appropriate records for children, ensuring the developmental needs of each child are met by building on their needs, feelings, and interests. Promote the well-being of all children and develop warm, caring relationships with them.
We provide wrap-around care for the children from Pitton Primary School. The setting is rural, and the ability to travel independently is essential.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, reliable, and punctual person with a sense of humour who enjoys working with children aged 4-11.
You will need to have the ability to:
1. Consult and work collaboratively as part of a team
2. Reflect on own practice and adapt
3. Maintain records and write reports when necessary
4. Make decisions and solve problems
5. Meet deadlines
6. Have good organisational skills
7. Be computer literate
8. Work on your own initiative
9. Have effective communication skills both orally and in writing
Qualifications:
Relevant qualification preferred, such as play worker, Early Years Educator, NVQ 3 or equivalent. Additional qualifications such as First Aid, Food Hygiene, and Safeguarding are desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
