What's involved with this role: Temporary Social Worker - PLTS Team Reference no: Calderdale 0009 7E7F / 1 Pay Rate: £15.63 per hour PAYE 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours This opening assignment is for 3 months City: HALIFAX Enhanced DBS disclosure required Hybrid working Experienced Social Worker role within the Personalised Long-term Support team working with older people, individuals who are physically disabled and their carers. Social workers within PLTS provide a vital role in ensuring that statutory duties are met under the Care Act to provide support to people who meet the Care Act national criteria. This includes out of area hospital discharges, safeguarding enquiries under s42 Care Act, assessments are completed in line with Mental Capacity Act and Human Rights legislation. Key responsibilities: Take action and help meet the needs of specified service users, their families, carers and other groups which will include: a. The provision of statutory social work services involving the observance of the relevant regulations. b. Work jointly with other agencies and organisations as appropriate, co-working if necessary. c. Initiating the provision of appropriate services and resources. d. Undertaking some escort and contact duties. e. Organising, and/or assisting with group work as appropriate and agreed by Team/Practice Manager. Adhere to agreed recording systems, policies and procedures Participate in the provision of a day duty service as required Required to contribute to any development of the team’s new forms of work or service Use their personal and professional qualities to bring a range of continually developing knowledge into fluid and unpredictable situations Attending different meetings and training events as well as shadow experienced social workers. The workload should reflect the eleven Knowledge and Skills Statements for Child & Family Social Workers Use legislation, guidance and reflective social work practice to ensure that key concepts and theories in social work are utilised to ensure the best possible outcomes for vulnerable children and their families. Undertake critical continued training as per the professional requirements of the post and in accordance with HCPC registration requirements. Qualifications: Recognised social work qualification e.g. DipSW/Degree level Registered with Social Work England Hold a full UK driving and have access to a vehicle for work purpose Knowledge: Knowledge of local authority services Knowledge of social work theory and ability to put into practice Knowledge of the welfare and development of children and young people Knowledge of Children Act 1989 and other relevant legislation An understanding of Department of Health objectives and desired outcomes for children and families Experience: Recent experience of statutory work with children and families Recent post qualifying experience in a field or residential social work setting Skills & Abilities: Verbal and written communication skills An ability to evidence assessment skills Please quote the Job Title & Vacancy Reference No. in your application, or we will be unable to match your CV to the role being applied for.
